Red eyeshadow is probably one of the scarier and more challenging makeup looks to pull off, but done well it can look so great. Chanel's "Le Rouge" collection is the first of Lucia Pica's to launch since joining Chanel. It marks an exciting new direction for Chanel and Lucia without a doubt brings a new cool edge to the brand. When I was introduced to the collection last week I instantly feel in love so I wanted to share it with you all ahead of the launch tomorrow.

So first of all let's talk about the showstopper product, the eyeshadow quad in Candour at Expérience. I love warm shadows and this quad includes the perfect combination of wearable but also interesting shades. A lighter camel brown (I really appreciate that this isn't a very pale cream), a warmer deep brown, a rich chocolate brown and then the incredible red. It's not a bright red, it's a warm almost maroon red with brown undertones. I also find when this is applied onto the lid is looks a little plum which is a really flattering colour especially on brown eyes. I tend to apply this quad in 4 steps. The lighter shade goes over the entire lid, the warmer brown in the outer corners and under the eye, the red in the centre of the lid and centre of the under eye and then the rich chocolate brown as a liner. I love it!

Also in this collection is a beautiful eyeliner in Eros, which is a plummy maroon as well as a gorgeous nude lipstick in Rouge Ingénue. This one is more of a traditional nude and is less pink than "Adrienne" that I've shown before. The Illusion D'Ombre's are available in two shades for this collection, Rouge Contraste is a rich burgundy and Roufe Brûlé is an incredible rose gold. You can simply pat these onto the lid for an amazing metallic effect.

The other standout product for me is the Nail Gloss. In the bottle it looks clear and you think you're going to get a sheer wash of colour on the nails but I was so surprised when I used this. After two coats you're left with an opaque red/orange that's very glossy and looks almost gel like. I really like the finish and would love for this to come out in more shades in the future.

There are 17 products in this collection, 6 of which are limited edition. Prices range from £17.50 to £40 and the entire collection will be available from tomorrow 5th August. If you've been waiting to treat yourself to a Chanel eyeshadow palette or you have a load of Boots points saved up for something special, now's the time!

THE CHAMPAGNE POP FAMILY

When Jaclyn Hill collaborated with BECCA Cosmetics last year to create the Champagne Pop highlighter, I fell in love and wrote about it here. Since then the collaborative collection has expanded to include a face palette, cream highlighter, liquid highlighter and soon the UK will have the split pan powder duos. Champagne Pop has become the highlighter that everyone talks about both online and irl, my friend Debs is obsessed too.

There's something for everyone and so I thought today I'd talk about the difference in the products so you know which one would work for you. First of all let's get the face palette out of the way because unfortunately this one was limited edition. Three blushers and two highlighters all cased in a gorgeous white and gold sleek palette. However, some of these blushers and highlighters are now available in the new split pan products. Champagne Pop and Flowerchild looks like my perfect combination but if you like a slightly pinker toned highlighter, Prosecco Pop is also gorgeous.

There are three formulas available in the Champagne Pop highlighter and I honestly couldn't pick a favourite. The liquid shimmering skin perfecter is great to use either mixed in with your foundation or tapped onto the high points of your face. As it's a liquid you can work it into the skin for a more natural finish and I find using my fingers is the best way to do this.

The classic powder highlighter works best with a small fluffy brush and I like to apply it to the tops of my cheekbones and down my nose. This one is the most obvious and shows up incredibly well on the skin, it can actually be over doe so I'd recommend a very light hand when applying it. The colour itself is a warm golden peach shade.

The cream formula is a lovely one for those with dry skin, mature skin or if you just want something a bit more subtle.  The pan size is smaller so I simply like to take my middle finger and swirl it in the pan before tapping it onto my cheekbones, down my nose and onto my cupid's bow. The formula blends really well with your base and looks very natural and glowy on the skin. It's a great summer staple! I've also just noticed on the Space NK website that there is also a slim light version for on-the-go which looks great.... I need it.

I'm really excited to try the split pans and to complete my Champagne Pop collection but for now I think I've got more than enough highlighters to keep me going. So which one grabs your attention?

I haven't done an updated skincare routine video in a while so until that happens, here's a little roundup of the products that have been taking centre stage on my bathroom shelves. I've been trying to keep it simple and give each product time to work, I think it's important to allow time for your skin to get used to products.

The Oskia Renaissance Cleanser is a classic and I've been working my way through my extensive collection of travel minis. If you haven't already heard me rave about it, it's a gel cleanser that turns into an oil when worked into the skin. It removes my makeup well and leaves my skin feeling moisturised, which is exactly what I look for in a cleanser. I occasionally double cleanse in the evenings, usually on heavy makeup days and I've been trying out the Votary Super Seed Cleansing Oil. This is a natural brand that I've never tried before but have instantly fallen in love with! The brand describes this cleanser as "anti-irritation, anti-inflammation, deeply nourishing and anti-ageing" and I can definitely feel it's calming qualities. I like to use oils as a second cleanse so the product isn't wasted on removing makeup and I really enjoy the feeling this cleanser leaves on my skin.

In the mornings I have been enjoying using Bakel's Jaluronic Serum which, at £100, is definitely one of my most extravagant skincare products. But for those of you who like to invest in your skincare this serum is incredible! I've been using it every morning and I can really see the difference in the hydration of my skin. I can get quite dehydrated skin, especially when I don't drink enough water and with that comes creased makeup and ageing around my eye area. This serum injects a lot of hydration giving my skin a fuller, glowier look. I follow this with a simple moisturiser like the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser Light. I'm not that fussy with moisturisers but I do like this one as it's a simple formula that feels light on the skin. Most of my moisture comes from the serum and the moisturiser just works as a nice barrier between the serum and my makeup.

In the evening, instead of using the Bakel serum (which you can definitely use in the evenings if you want to) I prefer to use an oil and leave it there. The Votary Super Seed Facial Oil is perfect because it isn't too heavy but it's easy to apply and I love the way it feels on my skin. This range has really impressed me and this final step in the evening has become my favourite. I also use the Estee Lauder Revitalising Supreme Eye Cream morning and evening to hydrate around the eye area and after having a few bad experiences with eye creams I'm glad I've found one that works.

I'm really happy with my current routine, it doesn't feel like too many products but just the right amount to get the job done.

Screen Shot 2016-08-08 at 14.22.25

A couple of weeks ago I was feeling really low, uninspired and confused. At the time nothing made sense but now that I feel better I've been able to make a bit of sense of it and figure out what I did to feel better. After a good reaction from this of you on Snapchat I thought I'd make a video chatting about it with my tips for feeling inspired again. I hope you like it!

Lipstick will always be my thing and it's pretty hard not to get excited by them especially when you get to try an entire collection! Make Up For Ever isn't a brand I know that well, for a long time it wasn't available for us in the UK but you can now get your hands on it pretty easily online and at Debenhams. This month they launched a huge new collection of creme and matte lipsticks and I looked through the entire collection to pick out my favourite shades to show to you. Can you tell I'm having a blush/nude moment?

In the swatch photo above, from left to right is M100, M101, C105, C106, C107, C211.

I'm always disappointed when a brand chooses to number their products instead of name them, I think a nice name can really make me fall in love with a lipstick. I was also a little disappointed in the packaging, they don't feel particularly luxe and they don't stand out to me on a counter. Disappointments aside though, I really like the formula of these lipsticks and I think they're worth a try. The matte formula is very intense so you'll need a mirror to apply but you won't need to layer. I found it looked really nice applied on the lips and then patted down with a tissue, without patting it can sit on the lips a bit too much. The colour lasted really well throughout the day and the nude shades are really flattering. The cream formula is gorgeous and if you're not sure which one to go for I think this finish would be my favourite. It's not glossy or sheeny in any way it's just slightly more creamy and hydrating than the mattes and easier to apply. The lipsticks are £17 and there are 45 shades available including some more adventurous blues and purples.

Where has this year gone?! Believe it or not we are (sort of) on the countdown to Christmas and for me, that always starts with beauty advent calendars.

I first discovered this luxury alternative to a classic chocolate calendar three or four years ago and since then they have just got better and better.

The L’Occitane en Provence advent calendar is a beautiful work of art which has sold out every year since it launched two years ago. It’s no surprise with £82 worth of L’Occitane products inside but a retail price of only £42!

It’s definitely one of the prettiest advent calendars out there. It’s illustrated by renowned French illustrator Kanako and shows the festive atmosphere of the L’Occitane gift workshop. It’s so cute! I think the mixing room is my favourite but every scene is so beautiful I could just stare at it all day. It’s definitely the sort of calendar that you’d want to display on a shelf for everyone to see.

Hidden behind every door are 24 luxury travel sized products including my all-time favourite Almond Shower Oil. I won’t give away too much of what’s inside but it’s the perfect mix of fragrance, skincare, body and haircare.

L’Occitane have been kind enough to give you guys a special offer to receive free delivery for everyone who purchases a calendar using my special link below. Also, even better, if you’re one of the first 50 you’ll receive 3 mini L’Occitane crackers filled with their iconic shea hand creams for yourself or to use as a gift

To purchase your own L’Occitane calendar with free P&P (and free crackers for the first 50 people) please use this link and add the code “LILYXMAS” at checkout to claim your crackers!

Bring on Christmas I say!

Yesterday I uploaded our first wedding video! Rich and I got away for a few days and whilst relaxing we filmed a little video talking through the day. We wanted to tell you all about it as we still have a couple of weeks to wait for photos and videos. It really was the best day, better than I could have even hoped!

I hope you like this little update and thank you so much for all your comments, tweets and excitement!

There is literally no better way to celebrate my first proper week back at work than with a meet up announcement. This time it's not just one meetup, but TWO... and with my favourite buddy Anna, with my favourite charity Look Good Feel Better in my favourite beauty hall in Liberty London. Epic. As you guys know, Anna and I are Look Good Feel Better ambassadors and we're so excited to be teaming up with them for these events.

There are two events so take your pick, both will be fab and we can't wait!

Thursday 20th October 6pm - 8pm // Liberty London Beauty Hall This event is free of charge and you don't need to book. Anna and I will be hanging out in the beauty hall mingling and enjoying some shopping. There will be special activities taking place on the counters and money will be raised for Look Good Feel Better throughout the evening. Bring your friends or come alone, we'd love to chat and catch up! With a percentage of proceeds going to LGFB I finally have a good excuse to shop and I'm going to go wild!!

Sunday 23rd October Two Sessions // Liberty London Cafe This is a paid event and something really special that we've never done before. Anna and I will be hosting an intimate afternoon tea in the beautiful Liberty London and it'll be a similar setup to our Beauty Chat LIVE events but with lots of yummy afternoon treats! Join us for a chat, a glass of prosecco, afternoon tea and an exclusive Liberty goodie bag. The Beauty Chat Afternoon Tea will be ticketed and you'll have to BOOK ASAP to get your ticket. The first session will run from 1.30pm-3.30pm and the second from 4pm-6pm.

Tickets cost £50 per person with proceeds going to Look Good Feel Better. To book, please phone the Liberty customer service team on +44 (0) 20 7734 1234 and tell them which session you'd like to book. Alternatively, use this link to book via email.

THE SURPRISE VIDEO

I'm back on the blogging wagon and it feels great! Have a watch to see what I got up to on Sunday and keep watching to see some of the clips from the surprise video played at our wedding. If you don't know what I mean, watch this video. Our friends and family surprised us with a video at the wedding, it was organised by my sisters and edited by Anna. They all pretend to be me and Rich throughout the video and it's hilarious... now I can't vlog without cringing at myself.

Hope you like this week's vlog! I'll try and keep them weekly of a while.
