THE WEARABLE HEEL

I've never been a heels kind of girl. When everyone else at school started wearing them, I used the excuse that I was too tall, then I went to Uni the budget to buy nice heels wasn't there... now I'm an adult... I still don't wear heels. I hate being uncomfortable and there's nothing worse than being the one complaining about your feet hurting all night. Because of my height I've managed to get away with a nice pair of boots or pumps, but more and more I'm finding myself in situations where nothing but a heel is appropriate. So I went on the hunt for the perfect, comfortable heel...

The thing with heels is the higher they are, the better they look and I always find kitten heels or mid-heels look a bit school teacher-like and aren't at all flattering on me. The thing I like about wearing boots and dresses is how it breaks up my leg a bit and makes me feel more confident. There's something about wearing court heels that makes me feel far too leggy and in the past I've often had the strange "wow, you're like a tree" compliment/insult. So I was on the lookout for a heel with something around the ankle and I found the perfect pair in Topshop.

Chunky heel for comfort? Check. Open toe to balance out the heavy heel? Check. Ankle support and detail? Check.

I feel like I can wear these with quite fancy dresses but could also wear them casually in the Summer. I gave them a whirl at the Brits and they get a thumbs up from me. They did hurt a little bit, but mainly because they're new and need to be worn in. Because of the open toe, they work well for half sized gals like me, just don't forget the pedicure.

So for the girl who hates wearing heels but sometimes feels she has to... these are right up your street.
