My week in photos for the 97th time. Highlights this week included a lovely birthday weekend, decorating the tree and visiting Warner Bros. Studio Tour.

London Hot Spot // Bone Daddies Ramen Bar in Soho, London. Hidden away in the heart of Soho, this is the place to go if you're a fan of ramen soup. It has a great atmosphere, amazing food and it's perfect for a quick lunch if you're in the area.

Stand Out Product // The Wet Brush has changed my life and made brushing my hair the easiest part of my hair routine. It literally glides through the hair without any tugging and unlike some of the other tangle hair brushes, it has a handle which makes it so much easier to use!

TARTAN NAILS

For this week's nail post I thought I'd attempt some festive tartan nails as tartan is my current obsession. This is by no means my best attempt at nail art, but it's as good as I could get it!

I went with the four nail shades, Essie 'Fishnet Stockings' for the red, Essie 'School of Hard Rocks' for the green, Butter London 'Champers'for the gold and Leighton Denny 'Maneater' for the black.

To start I simply painted all the nails with the red and with every step I allowed it to fully dry before continuing with the next step. For the large stripes I used the brush directly making sure to wipe off most of the product first. One green line was drawn across and two gold lines were drawn down in a cross shape.

Once the three shades were dry I used the black and a small nail (or eyeliner) brush to draw two stripes down and two across.

My version is quite a basic design that requires minimal tools but from afar it looks really impressive on your nails.

WARNER BROS. STUDIO TOUR: HOGWARTS IN THE SNOW

For my birthday last weekend, the lovely people at the Warner Bros Studio Tour gave me and my family some tickets to Hogwarts In The Snow. I didn't want to ruin the experience for any of you who are thinking of going but at the same time I really wanted to do a post for the non-Harry potter fans who hadn't even considered going.

Out of the 6 of us, only 1 or 2 had read or seen all the Harry Potter stories, but we all absolutely loved it as it's just so incredibly interesting. It's based at the studios where all the films were created and so many of the huge sets have been kept there. There are exclusive behind the scenes documentaries and interviews which was one of my favourite bits. Learning about the special effects and visual effects completely baffled me and made me want to go home and have a Harry Potter film marathon.

The actual construction of Hogwarts and how they filmed the the building itself completely blew me away and as it's currently Hogwarts in the snow, it had been covered in snow for the occasion.

I can't recommend it enough. I left feeling inspired and seriously impressed with the work that went into making such an epic series of films. There isn't really anything else like it and if you have any kind of interest in film making then you'll love it.

If tickets for Hogwarts in the snow are sold out, I'd recommend booking for later in the year as it would still be great without the Christmas decorations and snow. We had the best day and left with a belly full of Butter Beer and Every Flavour Beans.

Have you been to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London yet?

A bonus mid-week video has just gone up on my YouTube channel as I wanted to show you some of the amazing gifts I received on my birthday this year. I don't usually do videos like this but I was so happy and impressed with the gifts I received that I wanted to share them with you and maybe inspire you for some last minute Christmas shopping!

I'm a very lucky girl and thanks to all of you for all your lovely birthday wishes on here, on Twitter, on Facebook and on my YouTube! I hope you enjoy the video.

This week I'll be doing some posts that were requested on my Facebook page - thanks Sarah Maddox for requesting this one!

My Topshop bag is a bit of a mess at the moment, but when I tipped everything out this is what was inside…

TECH //
I can't be without my iPhone in it's Kate Spade case, my iPad mini also in a Kate Spade case and my portable charger

BEAUTY //
I've tried to stop lugging around 500 lipsticks so in my current beauty rotation I just have Homeoplasmine, a BECCA blush in 'Flower Child' (to use as a mirror), Kiko Luscious Cream lipstick in 502, This Works Deep Sleep Stress Less (for emergency tube situations), Stella fragrance and a hair clip. I also always make sure that in my purse I have my MAC pro card, my Space NK N.Dulge card and my Boots advantage card - essentials!

EXTRA BITS //
An umbrella (because it's London), my keys, my Miu Miu purse, my oyster card in a Whistles holder, headphones, M&S Cashmere gloves and my recent order of Instagram prints from Firebox

We all love a good nosey into someone's bag. What random things do you carry around?

CURRENT LUXURY FAVOURITES

My 2013 two-part favourites video is soon approaching so instead of doing my December Favourites, I thought I'd do a mid-month luxury favourites post instead…

I love this cute, little leather makeup bag from NARS that came with an eyeshadow crayon and a lipgloss. It's small enough to carry around in your bag and the heart print is so unique and pretty!

I've been obsessed with this cleanser all month as it's slightly oilier than the Emma Hardie one and comes in a really handy pump. It takes all my makeup off in one cleanse, but I'll talk more about this in tomorrow's post...

I've always heard so much about this powder highlighter but have only recently got my hands on it. The shade is 'candlelight' and it literally looks like your cheeks are lit by candlelight. I add a small amount to my cheekbones and it looks beautiful, especially for a Christmas makeup look.

This is the only blush I've used for the past few weeks. I've been wearing a lot of smokey eyes and bold lips, so this blusher is the perfect companion as it's a soft, natural pink. BECCA do 'natural' very well, so this has been an everyday staple for me.

I mentioned this brush in my last haul video and I am so happy I bought it. It's the perfect size for blusher and I never apply too much with it. It's soft and is also a good size for throwing in a makeup bag.

With all the Christmas/birthday/engagement parties I've been attending recently I've needed a long-lasting lipstick to rely on. Every single time it's been Dragon Girl and every single time I have had so many compliments. These have a 4 hour lasting power on me before only the inside of the lips start to fade. They are incredibly matte and so easy to apply. Dragon Girl is a pink toned red, so it's perfect for parties!

Sketch has been on my list for years but I finally picked it up a couple of weeks ago. It looks quite purple and shimmery in the pan but when applied it's like a deep plum. It's basically the perfect shadow for a smokey eye as it's the sort of deep shade that will go with any colour to help darken the overall look.

I've never filled in my brows or done anything to them apart from threading and using clear brow gel. I haven't been as happy with the overall look of them recently though and when you watch yourself in videos all the time you start to notice little annoying things. For the past two weeks I've been using this pencil just to fill in the very beginning of my brows and it's made all the difference to the overall look. I like this pencil because it has a spoolie on one end and a natural type of brown pencil on the other. It's also weighted really nicely which makes it easier to use.

So those are my current luxury favourites. I'll be back tomorrow to carry on the theme from yesterday's post with some of the other requested posts from Facebook.

WINTER SKINCARE ROUTINE

This week I'll be doing some posts that were requested on my Facebook page - thanks Shana Ward for requesting this one!

As the colder months get colder, my skincare routine get's adjusted slightly to fit with what my skin needs. Here are the products that currently occupy my skincare shelf…

As usual, I always start by removing my eye makeup using Bioderma and cotton wool. For my morning cleanse I've been using the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel which is really refreshing and leaves the skin looking radiant and luminous. I use the Sarah Chapman Ultimate Cleanse in the evening as it's a thicker oil-based cleansing balm so it takes my makeup completely off and leaves my skin feeling moisturised.

In the evenings I'll then follow with the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary mist, just pressing it into my skin as a toner. In the mornings I'll use the Orico Transcend Marine Radiance Serum, which is a nice, light serum that leaves a glow on the skin. For eye cream I've been reaching for the Heal Gel for Eyes as it's a clear gel that keeps the area moisturised so my concealer doesn't cling to any dry patches. It feels refreshing around the eye area so I use it twice a day.

In the mornings I moisturise with Origins Ginzing, which I have nearly finished! It's a lovely light gel moisturiser that smells like zesty oranges in the morning. In the evenings I skip the moisturiser and go straight for the Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial as my skin loves the stuff so it's had to become an every night thing.

My daily evening routine also consists of the Blink Brow Oil and if I'm feeling a bit spotty I use the Super Facialist by Una Brennan Tea Flower Deep Clean Pure Purifying Clay Mask. I find this really helps to clear up my skin and so I use it at least once a week.

It's, of course, not necessary to use separate products in the morning and evening, but as I'm always trying a lot of products this is the routine I've slipped into this Winter.

Are you currently using any of these products too?

YSL Christmas 2013

YSL have launched two very exciting products this Christmas, both equally beautiful. Their Touche Éclat complexion highlighter is what they're most well known for, so to celebrate it's iconic status they have launched a limited edition one just for Christmas.

There are now seven shades available but the classic number 1 will always be the perfect gift. Usually in a plain gold pen, it has had a Christmas makeover that looks like it's raining gold snow. The Touche Éclat is not just a brightening concealer, it can be used in so many different ways. It can highlight in the inner corners of the eye, under the brow bone, down the nose, around the lips and along the cheekbones. It's also really handy to have in your makeup bag if you need a quick fix or if you do your makeup on the go.

The Palette Parisian Nite is a beautiful limited edition blush that includes two complimentary pink shades. The outer pink is a matte baby pink and the heart is a slightly darker pink with a soft shimmer. Swished together it makes a pretty, party pink for your cheeks. It launched on 6th November nationwide so you might have to hunt around to find any that are left. It's £29.50 and only available to buy when you purchase a Touche Éclat.

If there are any boys reading this, this is how you treat a girl. Girls… is there still time to add stuff to the Christmas list?

ONLINE SHOPPING

This week I've been doing some posts that were requested on my Facebook page - thanks Mia Wallace for requesting this one!

As a London girl who grew up with all the shops on my doorstep I never really got into online shopping. I tend to use online more as a research tool because for me shopping, actually purchasing something and walking out with the bag is half the fun. Sometimes though, the online sites are actually better than the stores. They often have exclusive deals, limited edition products, discount codes and it's nice to be able to see everything in one place.

So here are my top 6 places to shop online and the products that I recommend from each… (look out for the exclusive Space NK gift with purchase just for my readers!)

I fell in love with this site after meeting the founders over a year ago and hearing their inspirational story. Set up by beauty obsessives, Cult Beauty offers only the good stuff. Handpicked, they get it right every time and it is a pleasure to browse. The 'What's New'page is bookmarked on my browser and the products I always repurchase are the Therapie Himalayan Detox Bath Salts, Aesop Parsley Seed Masque, Aromatherapy Associate Deep Relax bath oil and Escentric Molecule Molecule 01 perfume. They also stock hard to find brands such as Anastasia Beverley Hills, DJV Beautenizer, Jouer and RMS Beauty

Receive a free set of 3 mini NARS Tinted Moisturisers & a mini pro prime when you spend over £50 using the code 'LILY20' at checkout (whilst stock lasts)

I'm a Space NK shop browser, but every now and again I can't resist the urge to check the website for new releases and limited edition products. I love every single brand Space NK sell and the shopping experience both in store and online is always pleasant. If you're an N.Dulge card holder there are often discounted shopping deals too, so I always jump on those! Some of the products that are currently grabbing my attention are the Diptyque Classic Coffret Collection, the NARS At First Sight palette and the Sarah Chapman Daily Essentials Kit.

ASOS //
I struggle to buy clothes online, but ASOS not only do their own brand but also sell loads of other well-known brands so you can easily try them on in-store first if you want to. ASOS always have amazing discount codes going around so you can get discounts off brands that would never normally be discounted. There's always something to browse online and their daily edits are great for inspiration. My current ASOS loves are this Whistles Cashmere sweater, this cute iPhone case from Monki and this Lulu Guinness makeup bag.

SELFRIDGES //
Just like the store itself, Selfridges online has pretty much everything you need. I love the home department and the quirky bits they sell like this piece of wall art. The beauty section is amazing and sells exclusive brands such as Charlotte Tilbury and the food hall is just as good online, just look at this chocolate hamper

FEEL UNIQUE //
Feel Unique offer free worldwide delivery so that automatically bumps them up the list of awesome websites to buy from. They sell products from hundreds of beauty brands that  includes a hefty list of premium beauty brands too. Some of my product picks from the site include The Balm Mary Lou Manizer highlighter, Phyto Clarifying Detox shampoo and Dr Bronner's Magic Soap

URBAN OUTFITTERS //
Urban Outfitters is one of my favourite places to shop but sometimes I can feel quite overwhelmed in the store as there's so much stuff! Their website is great and has all the good stuff in one place so you don't miss anything. I love their home & gifts section especially this photo album,  this hilarious bathroom guestbook and this left handed mug.

So what are your favourite websites to shop on?

CHRISTMAS DAY NAILS

For Christmas Day I'll be doing my nails simple and chic with a touch of sparkle. I absolutely love the Ciaté Party Shoes that came in my advent calendar so I layered it over Revlon Vixen for the perfect party look.

It'll go with whatever I decide to wear on the day and will catch in the light for some pretty, but subtle sparkle.

So what will be wearing on your nails on Christmas Day?

MY CURRENT HAIR STYLING ROUTINE

I've been getting loads of questions about my haircare routine recently, especially on YouTube so here's a breakdown of my current routine…

I've been fickle with shampoo and conditioner recently, reaching for whatever is in the cupboard, but when I get out the shower I reach of the same products pretty much every time.

I start by brushing through my wet hair with The Wet Brush. I've tried the tangle teaser (didn't work), I've tried the Michel Mercier brush (it broke) and so for the past 6 months I've just been using a paddle brush. That was until I discovered The Wet Brush and it is a seriously a miracle worker. It has a handle so is easier to use and it'll brush through any knots in seconds. It feels good on the hair and doesn't tug at all, so I'm a huge fan.

Once my hair is tangle-free I run the Joico K-Pak Smoothing Balm through the ends which helps to straighten and protect the hair. After leaving it to dry naturally I straighten my hair using my GHDs, doing section by section.

When my hair is completely straight it can look a bit dull and flat so I like to style it up using two types of products. For the root and body of my hair I use either the Bumble & Bumble Dryspun Finish or the Oribe Dry Texturising Spray, spraying it and massaging it in with my fingers. For the ends of my hair I use the Bumble & Bumble Semi Sumo which helps to take away any fluffiness, add a bit of texture and keeps it all in place.

Despite spending hours straightening my hair after washing it, I still wake up with half curly hair every morning. Having to straighten my hair every morning can be incredibly damaging so I've been on the hunt for a heat protector that didn't have to be applied onto wet hair and wasn't a spray or a cream. Amelia picked up this Oscar Blandi Dry Heat Protect Spray from America for me and it's perfect for what I need. I spray a small amount of this onto my hair before straightening it every morning and it doesn't feel at all heavy on my hair.

It's a routine that seems to be working for me at the moment and I love all the products. Do you use any of these?

CHRISTMAS DAY MAKEUP

I hope you all had a brilliant Christmas Day and have some nice plans for boxing day too. I'll be seeing more family, eating more food and watching more Christmas movies. Standard.

So you know how some people stay in their pjs all day on Christmas day and some people get all dressed up in a pretty dress? Well I'm the sort of person who does both.

I like the routine of making myself feel pretty in the morning, doing my hair and makeup, putting on a dress and sliding around the house in my tights like I'm 5 years old again. By lunchtime though, my stretchy pants and Christmas jumper are on and the hair is tied up on the top of my head.

This is how my makeup started and although the lipgloss was quickly wiped off to make room for canapés, everything else pretty much stayed intact.

EYES/BROWS: MAC All That Glitter, MAC Satin Taupe, MAC Sketch, MAC Teddy eyeliner, Clinique High Lengths Mascara, Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil 'Dark Brunette', Blink Clear Brow Gel

LIPS: Kiko Super Gloss '110'

NEW YEAR'S EVE NAILS

$

Glitter seemed like the obvious choice for my nails on New Year's Eve, but why have glitter when you can have sequins! Like… actual sequins.

I started by painting all my nails with Topshop 'Moonshine', which is a pretty rose gold. For the ring finger I used Ciaté's 'Miss Mistletoe' sequin manicure. Now it's not an easy job covering your nail in sequins, but it was worth it in the end.

I painted the ring finger nail with a sticky top coat before pouring the sequins onto the nail. My tip would be to do it over a piece of paper so you can save the left over sequins. Once the nail was covered I then pressed the sequins down onto the nail securing them in place. I then used a thick layer of top coat over the sequins to give them a glossy finish and to help them stay put.

I absolutely love the finished look although I'm sure it'll be a nightmare to remove. I'm excited to be able to say that I am wearing sequins for New Year's Eve… how glam!
